Privacy Policy

Salary Index is operated by Paxizon Technologies Limited (“Paxizon”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a company in Nigeria. Paxizon is the data controller for the Service. This Policy covers the website and related features that link to it (the “Service”).

Nigerian law applies, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, overseen by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. GDPR is EU law and is not the law that governs this Service.

We collect limited employment and pay details. We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your full name, employee ID, bank details or government ID.

• Salary submissions. Job title, function, level, industry, company type, location, pay, currency, year, benefits and any optional context you choose to share. Submission is voluntary.
• Optional verification. A payslip, offer letter, work email or LinkedIn profile, if you choose to provide one, used only to confirm a submission. It is never shown publicly.
• Know your worth. Monthly net salary, role, level, years of experience, company stage, industry, work arrangement, optionally your company name and job title, and the benefits you pick. Using it is voluntary. A company name is never published. Answers you have typed stay in a Know your worth cookie on your device so you can leave and come back to the same step; they are not sent until you ask us to work out the result. You can clear that cookie from Cookie Settings without changing analytics.
• Usage. We count searches, filters, use of the share buttons and similar actions as anonymous totals, without cookies. If you enable analytics, we also collect aggregate information such as pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device type.
• Product feedback. Optional survey answers. Please do not include identifying details in free text.
• Cookie preferences stored on your device so we can honour them.
• Public sources. Salary information from reports, articles, company publications and job pages, which we clean and standardise.
• Internal review. Private source and mapping records used to check and correct the dataset. These are not published.
• Advertising bookings. Name, business name, email, optional WhatsApp number, logo, ad image, headline and description, website, campaign dates, payment amounts and references, and campaign results.

We use this information to:

• operate and secure the Service;
• clean, anonymise and publish salary listings and compensation benchmarks;
• verify a submission where you provided a verification method;
• understand how the Service is used and improve it;
• show you where your pay stands through Know your worth, and keep your answers to improve our benchmarks. Answers we keep are never published with your company name or anything that identifies you;
• create a shareable Know your worth link when you ask for one. Anyone with the link can see that result, including the pay you entered, but never your company name;
• respond to enquiries and prevent abuse;
• process advertising bookings, publish approved ads, measure aggregate views and clicks, manage refunds and keep transaction records; and
• record the amount and date of advertising payments in our analytics to measure revenue. If you accepted analytics cookies before booking, the payment is linked to that visit so we can see how advertisers find us. Your contact and payment card details are not shared for this.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use a salary submission to identify you to your employer.

Before publication we:

• do not publish names, emails, verification links or identifying notes;
• hide company names by default, and name an employer only when the company published the figure itself;
• map free-text titles to a standard role and seniority; and
• show compensation with job and market attributes only.

If you believe a listing could identify you, contact us and we will review it.

Strictly necessary cookies, for example to remember your cookie choices, are always on. Know your worth answers are stored in a separate cookie on your device, not with analytics; you can turn that cookie off in “Cookie Settings”. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them. You can change this in “Cookie Settings” in the footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising.

Sponsored ads are selected by availability, not a personal profile. We count views and clicks as totals for advertisers. Advertisers never receive information about individual visitors.

We do not sell your information. We share it only:

• as anonymised public listings and compensation benchmarks;
• with service providers that host the Service or provide infrastructure, analytics or payment processing, acting on our instructions;
• where the law requires it, or to protect rights and safety; and
• in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

We are based in Nigeria and use service providers that may operate in other countries. Where information is transferred, we take reasonable steps to keep it protected in line with this Policy and Nigerian law.

We keep submissions as long as needed to operate, check and improve the Service, or to meet legal obligations. Optional contact details are deleted when no longer needed, or on your request.

Ad contact details and creative are kept while a campaign is active and for the short period needed for changes, refunds, disputes and recovery. Limited transaction and performance records are kept for accounting, fraud prevention and legal obligations.

Published listings and aggregate, anonymised data may be kept indefinitely.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

You can:

• choose whether to allow analytics cookies;
• ask us to access, correct or delete a submission you made, or optional contact details you provided; and
• report a listing you believe could identify you, using “Report this entry” on a listing or the contact details below.

You may have further rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Act. Contact us to exercise them.

The Service is for working professionals and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Policy. We will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
